We planted our first vines in 2012 and we are a small family run business close to the eastern edge of the Peak District in the lovely village of Wessington in the beautiful Amber Valley. We are a premium wine producer based in a beautiful location and we are a great visitor attraction and community asset. See Contact page for how to find us .
We are also an online retailer of wines, so please take a look at our online shop.
Our Tours & Tastings explore the trials and tribulations of planting and growing grapevines on the edges of Peak country in Derbyshire, and the challenges of each unique vintage, both in the vineyard and the bottle.
After your tour you can relax with us in our beautiful Derbyshire orchard or Cellardoor bar and enjoy a delicious and hearty pre-prepared picnic box or cream tea box - paired to one of our amazing wines!
Wines like our estate grown Lindway Brook sparkling wine and Amber Wine, our very own 'orange wine'.
Visit our online shop or cellar door for the best English wines being produced in the UK today.
We are open during tour opening hours this season. Open Saturday afternoons from 1pm till 4pm
We're as known for our place as we are for our award winning wines.
We are beautifully located on the outskirts of the lovely village of Wessington famed for its village greens, nestling on the west side of the Amber Valley and enjoying great views. Our orchards and vineyards make the perfect place to hold tours and tastings, events, private tours, markets and, in the future, weddings. Come and explore our website and our wines!
Cost: from £20 per person - under 18s free. There are tours available for 11am, or 2pm or our 7pm Sunset Tours, which are a little more informal, culminating in a tasting around twilight with illumination in the orchard.
Our scheduled tours are led by Barry, Amber Valley Vineyards owner and vigneron at our Little Vineyard in Wessington, which overlooks the beautiful Amber Valley. Explore the vineyard year, the trials and tribulations of growing vines in Derbyshire. Tastings of least 3 wines and our cider then follow in the glorious Orchard, or under the beautiful pavilion or in our quaint old stables Cellardoor tasting rooms if the weather isn't quite up to it. By a warming fire if it's inclement out, and we can squeeze you in! Please do bear in mind we're a predominantly outdoor venue and tours are an outdoor activity so please dress for the weather!
You can even add a Picnic box or Afternoon Tea box for 2 (box for 1 option also available). See below for dates and further info and click here
to see more info on our food boxes.

Since 2020 we've held a monthly Summer Farmers Market in our beautiful orchard, adjacent to our vineyards and Cellardoor. We also hold two Artisan Markets too during the summer months - culminating in our key artisan market event in August. Good food, drink and quality products, great music and a lively yet relaxed atmosphere make for a great day out.
Private tours are great for like-minded people that belong to a club or group, or just for a group of friends or family for a birthday outing, or for a Hen or Stag-Do. Even just simply because you're looking for an interesting way to spend 2 or 3 hours together as a couple or as a small group of friends.
We can cater for groups of nearly any size from couples (subject to a minimum price) and up to 35 people at our great outdoor venue. You can enjoy well-packed delicious picnic boxes or cream tea boxes, or even canapés, with your tour and even a glass of sparkling on arrival to add to the experience.
Costs start from £25 per person (min 8 people). Drop us a line...
If you want the perfect Stag or Hen do we can arrange that for you. From Willow Weaving followed by a vineyard tour and tasting, to a cheese and wine matching afternoon or evening - we've got you covered. Even just a private tour and tasting, maybe with a little sabrage? Drop us a message and we'll organise a perfect day for you.
Did you know that we offer accommodation too? We own two adjacent holiday cottages in the nearby beautiful town of Belper, in the heart of the Derwent Valley World Heritage Site. Both of these quaint cottages are comfortable, well-equipped, full of character and situated in a conservation area, opposite a 13th century Foresters Chapel and with beautiful views across the Derwent Valley.
And you're just 8 miles from our vineyards! And every mile traveled is a delightfully beautiful one between the two places!
